The index characterizes the contribution of coastal ecosystems (mangrove, seagrass, corals) in the protection against coastal erosion (from 0 to 5, 0 = low vulnerability of the coast, 5= high vulnerability of the coast) . In the frame of The WP3 of the Caribcoast project, a map of mangrove extent was produced by La Telescop and UMR Espace-Dev using a sentinel 2 image provided by ESA, with a supervised clissification approach (Random Forest)
